Hey!

My name is Austin, I had the vision to start Promenade Coffee Roasting back in 2019. Fast forward six years and it's finally a reality. I want to roast coffee that people can enjoy, experience, and slow down with. I named it promenade because slowing down and enjoying life I think is somewhat embodied in going for a walk with a good cup of coffee. So much coffee is about loading up on caffeine and getting stuff done - now, I won't refute that a plethora of my offerings will yield that result - but I want to start to change the culture around coffee. Coffee for me has frequently been something that I use to slow down, take my time, make coffee, and go for a stroll. Take time to enjoy the taste and be in the moment. Maybe that sounds cliche - but cliche's exist for a reason! 

A bit about me: 

I have worked in specialty coffee in some roll for nearly a decade, from roasting coffee, managing cafe's, doing barista training, and consulting for start-ups. I want to bring the best that I can to the table in the form of (mainly) high end single origin coffee's (and some blends), as well as lovely single origin decafs... (but more on that later). I love pulling out the best flavors from each region of coffee that I have, and sharing that with you. Hopefully you find something in the offerings that suits your palate and surprises you with it's taste! 

Decaf...? Decaf! 

One of the things that I want to put more focus on is decaf - stick with me here. I have enjoyed good coffee for years, I like poignant tasting notes, something that's developed well, and is both unique and just an enjoyable drinking experience. But also, my body doesn't handle caffeine right now as well as it once did, and I have had a hard time finding decaf coffee that is developed well, and really taken care of when roasting. I find a lot of decafs that all taste similar, or are just roasted as a side thought because most companies "have to" have a decaf option - I want to change that. I'm starting out with one good decaf right now, but I want to change the perception around decaf coffee's in the specialty world. I want to put out decafs that are so special that you reach for them before your usual brew. If that interests you, follow along and grab some decaf beans!
