Welcome to Promenade, 

The vision to start Promenade Coffee Roasting began back in 2019. Fast forward some years and it's finally a reality. Our goal is to roast coffee that people can enjoy, experience, and slow down with. I named it promenade because slowing down and enjoying life I think is somewhat embodied in going for a walk with a good cup of coffee. A fair bit of coffee culture is about loading up on caffeine and getting thing done - now, I won't refute that a plethora of our offerings will yield that result - but we want to start to change the culture around coffee. Coffee has, for me (Austin, the owner of Promenade)  frequently been something that I use to slow down, take my time, make coffee, and go for a stroll. Take time to enjoy the taste and be in the moment. Maybe that sounds cliche - but cliche's exist for a reason! 

About the Founder 

"I have worked in specialty coffee in some roll for nearly a decade, from roasting coffee, managing cafe's, doing barista training, and consulting for start-ups. I want to bring the best that I can to the table in the form of  high end single origin coffee's and blends, as well as lovely decafs... (but more on that later). I love pulling out the best flavors from each region of coffee that I have, and sharing that with you. Hopefully you find something in the offerings that suits your palate and surprises you with it's taste!

Decaf...? Decaf! 

One of the things that I want to put more focus on is decaf - stick with me here. I have enjoyed good coffee for years, I like poignant tasting notes, something that's developed well, and is both unique and an enjoyable drinking experience. A few years ago though, I stopped handling caffeine as well as I once did, and I have had a hard time finding decaf coffee that is developed well, and really taken care of when roasting. I have found that a significant number of decafs that all taste similar, and/or are just roasted as an after-thought because most companies "have to" have a decaf option - I want to change that. Every decaf that we offer is roasted to the same standard that Promenade holds for any of our other specialty coffee selections. Something that if you put it up to a blind taste test, you wouldn't be able to tell which is decaf and which is regular.
